Student Drop-Off

Students should be dropped off in the area just past the flagpole, on the upper lot after 7 AM. Please note that cars will stay to the left as you circle the building. Students should use the sidewalk that runs from the upper drop-off area to the lower bus area and wait for building personnel to signal them to cross to the building entrance. Students will enter the building through the main school doors. Student supervision does not begin in the main building until 7 AM; therefore, students should not be dropped off before 7 AM.

For students eating breakfast – our breakfast program will be available beginning at 6:55 am. Drop-off for the breakfast program is in front of the cafeteria – near the picnic table by the cafeteria. The breakfast program is available for students that are purchasing a breakfast at school.
We encourage all students to use the Mehlville School District buses.
Thank you for your help and understanding.

Middle School Reminders

Please remember:

Check your child's planner as soon as possible after school.
All middle school students are expected to use their planner for recording daily assignments and tests.  If your child has lost their planner, they may be purchased in the office for $3.

Expect homework.
If your child tells you "I don't have any," OR, "I finished it in class," ask to SEE it. Middle school students often make excuses to avoid homework.  PLEASE, do not accept the excuses.

Take the initiative to contact your child's teachers.
All teachers have voicemail and email. Contact them the moment you have a question concerning your child's education.

Check your child's backpack and binder the night before.
Develop the habit of helping your child to organize his/her belongings BEFORE going to bed.  Place everything near the door to make it easy to locate and take to school the next day.

In Case of...

If the decision to close school is made, the first thing the district will do is post it on the main website www.mehlvilleschooldistrict.com .  It's not necessary to wait for the SIScall, watch the TV, listen to the radio or navigate a local news channel's website. If we are closed, www.mehlvilleschooldistrict.com will have it on the opening page.

Student Pickup - Your ID is required

Parents,

As a reminder, when picking up your child, the office will require you to show an ID. If you have arranged for another person to pick up your child, we ask that you notify the office in advance with the name of that person and time he or she will be picking up your child.  We ask that you remind the person picking up your child that he or she must show their ID to ensure that they are in fact the person that you have designated.  Safety first!
Thank you!
